KAPURTHALA: Entire voting process for the election of Kapurthala Municipal Corporation and Sultanpur Lodhi Municipal Council was completed in a peaceful manner, during which 64.34 percent of the voters exercised their democratic right.
Disclosing this here today District Electoral Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Deepti Uppal said that the polling held from 8 AM to 4 Pm for Kapurthala Municipal Corporation and Sultanpur Lodhi Municipal Council in which total 62.16 % cast their votes in kapurthala whereas 75.89 % in sultanpur lodhi.
In kapurthala 42201 voters use their democratic right whereas in holy city sultanpur lodhi 9686 voters turns for voting.
She said that the entire election process in both the cities was peaceful and there were no reports for re-polling at any booth.
Voters were enthusiastic since morning as till 10 am in Kapurthala 12.62 per cent, 33.37 per cent till 12 noon and 49.44 per cent till 2 pm have cast their votes.
In Sultanpur Lodhi, 18.04 per cent voters had cast their votes till 10 am, 37.75 per cent till 12 noon and 58.47 per cent till 2 pm.
