5th Standard examination begins from feb 27th,225786 students will appear in exams

CHANDIGARH : The examinations for 5th and 8th class have re-begun for which all arrangements have been done. The 5th class examination has started from 27th February in which 225786 students will appear and 3907 examination centres have been established. Similarly, from 8th march the examination of 8th standard will begin for which 2347 centres have been made. This has been disclosed by the Director of SCERT, Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon through a press communiqué today.


As per directions of Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema the Department has re-started the examination of 5th and 8th class to raise the standard of education showing a serious concern and paying attention to voice of people. Though, Dr. Cheema will himself visit the school in Mohali Phase II to convey his best wishes by distributing the gifts to students before examination. The Education Minister has directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Primary Education Officers (BPEOs) that they shall also wish the students, half an hour before the exam.

Kahlon said that 5th class papers will occur from 27th February to 3rd March, 2016 at 10:00 am 12:30 pm and 8th class papers will occur from 8th March to 16th March at 2:30 to 5pm. Further, 13053 primary schools of Punjab 225786 students read in 5th class and 233013 students read in 8th class for them 3907 and 2347 centres have been made in 6286 middle, high and senior secondary schools, respectively.

While making the examination centre for 5th class, it has been specially considered that, centres should be near those schools where students want to take admission in 6th class. While making centre of examination in middle, high and senior secondary school the teachers and infrastructure of the schools have been considered especially. After the examination the papers will be checked impartially through table marking process and checking will be done by primary teachers only.
