AMRITSAR: Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala leader of Bhartiya Janata Party today wrote a letter to the Government of India urging him to ensure the safety of life and property of the Sikligar community in Bagli village in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh.
In his letter to Minority Commission, He said that Sikligar community is an integral part of Sikhism. Members of the Sikligar community belonging to the Sikh community were severely beaten over a minor altercation in Bagli village in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh. Many were taken into police custody. The Sikligar brothers have been pursued by some elements since last night. Some of the Sikligar's mothers and sisters were brutally beaten and are still forced to hide in the jungles.
He said that the police administration there is not only watching the atrocities being perpetrated on the Sikligar community as a silent spectator but also supporting the oppressors. There is deep concern in the Sikh community about this.
He further said that some leaders of the Sikh Sikligar community spoke to the local police administration about the injustice being done to the Sikligar community of Bagli village and their daughters-in-law.
He demanded from the police administration to provide security to the Sikligars. But neither the police are listening to them nor any action is being taken against the culprits .

Prof. Sarchand Singh Khyala directed Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Minority Commission Chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpura and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to immediately intervene in the matter to bring justice to the Sikhs of Sikligar village in Bagli village of Madhya Pradesh.
He appealed to ensure protection of their lives and property.
