Training for Jute Products making imparted to jail inmates by RSETI, Patiala

PATIALA: Under the guidance of Jail Minister, Punjab Mr. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Additional Director General of Police (Jails) Punjab, Chandigarh for the rehabilitation of inmates in Central Jail Patiala, a program was launched to impart special skills and training to the inmates in the jails under the guidance of Ministry of Rural Development , Govt of India in collaboration with the State Bank of India's Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Patiala.

Under this, training was started today for the women prisoners in the jail to make various items from jute products such as jute files, jute bags, jute handbags, jute decoration items etc. After this 13 days training, the women prisoners will be given certificates under the aegis of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt of India and after their release from jail they will be able to start their own work for which, they may also get loan facility from State Bank of India with special discounts provided by the government. .

 The Training program was today inaugurated in Central Jail, Patiala premises by the Jail Superintendent Mr. Shivraj Singh Nandgarh by lighting the lamp. He was accompanied by other Jail Officials which includes Deputy Superintendent Mr. Inderjit Singh Kahlon, Deputy Superintendent Mr. Vijay Kumar, Deputy Superintendent (UT) Mr. Harjot Singh Kler, Assistant Superintendent Mr. Jagjit Singh along with Mr. Harshbir Singh, State Director (RSETIs), Punjab, Mr. PS Anand, Lead District Manager, Patiala, Mr. Rajiv Sirhindi, Director, State Bank of India, RSETI, Patiala, Mrs. Simpi Singla, District Employment Officer, Patiala, Mrs. Sukhwinder Kaur, Trainer and Mr. Chandan Puneet Singh, Faculty, RCT, Patiala were also present on the occasion.
