Successful Completion of Two-Month Skill Development Program on Leather and Rexine Products at Malout

MALOUT: On behalf of the Small Industry Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED) recently organized a two-month skill development program on Leather and Rexine Products at Malout, The program aimed to provide training and skill development to individuals interested in the leather and rexine industry and to help them become successful entrepreneurs in the field.

The two-month program covered a wide range of topics, including product design, manufacturing processes, marketing strategies, and financial management, among others.

During the valedictory function held on Monday certificates and a toolkit, which included a sewing machine, were distributed to all the 30 successful candidates. The ceremony was attended by industry experts, government officials, and entrepreneurs, who praised the program's effectiveness in empowering individuals and promoting entrepreneurship. Among those present were Mr. Chanchal Sahu, Asstt. General Manager, SIDBI, Mr. Satvinder Singh, Consultant, RCED, Chandigarh, Mr. Jaiwan Singh, Sr. Project Officer, RCED, Mr. Vineet Nagpal, Program Coordinator, and Ms. Davinder Kaur, Technical Trainer.

The program received a positive response from participants from various backgrounds who were given hands-on training and practical experience in various aspects of the leather and rexine industry. The toolkit distributed on the day of the valedictory ceremony contained essential equipment and tools necessary for the production of leather and rexine products, along with a comprehensive guide on product design and manufacturing processes, to help the participants kick-start their entrepreneurial journey.

The success of this program reinforces the need for more such skill development initiatives to empower individuals and promote entrepreneurship, particularly in the micro and small sector. We remain committed to supporting and nurturing such initiatives in the future to help build a stronger and more sustainable leather and rexine industry in the region.
