PATIALA:The Punjab Government has been extending the services of Sewa Kendras from time to time with a view to provide all kinds of citizen centric services to the people close to home so that maximum services could be made available to the people.
To do this, about 300 services belonging to 25 departments are running successfully through Sewa Kendras. In order to make every citizen centric service accessible to the rural areas, special care has been taken for the services related to the farmers such as land farad, non encumbrance certificate, jamabandi and copy of revenue records etc. and services related to the police department such as DDR, copy of FIR, report of missing mobile etc. are also being provided through the sewa Kendras so that people do not have to go to the police station for these works and no citizen is deprived of government services due to COVID restrictions.
The applications submitted through the Sewa Kendras are shared daily by the District e-Governance Coordinator with the top officials of the district and the pending applications are evaluated by the district administration on priority basis. District Patiala has been ranked number one in the state in providing timely services to the people and a total of 2, 25, 236 people have been provided services through the service center in the last one year. This has been possible only because every application submitted by the people through the Sewa Kendra has a unique number which has made it easier to process and evaluate the application and every application has been digitally processed by the Department of Governance Reforms. A record is being maintained of the number of applications received, by which officer / employee and accordingly the senior officers of the district administration hold daily meetings with the senior officers of different departments regarding the timely disposal of these applications.
The employees of the Sewa Kendras are performing their duties in the best possible way during the COVID so that no citizen is deprived of the services being rendered by the government. In view of the convenience of the people in this difficult time and for the smooth running of the Sewa Kendras, the portal was launched for seeking prior approval from the Department of Governance Reforms to follow the instructions issued by the government regarding Corona and more, to avoid chaos. Any citizen can book advance appointment through the link https://esewa.punjab.gov.in/CenterSlotBooking from his/her home over phone. Besides, a courier service is also being launched to deliver the certificate to the applicant's home after its generation.
