NSS Open Unit, UT Chandigarh and GMSSS-15C organised blood donation camp with GMSH-16

CHANDIGARH: NSS Open Unit, Chandigarh with GMSSS-15 C in collaboration with Government Multi Specialist Hospital (GMSH), Sector-16, Chandigarh organised a blood donation camp in the premises on the premises of the school.. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman, Joshi Foundation, Chandigarh and Smt. Harmanpreet Kaur, Former Principal GMSSS-15C as a Guest of Honour in the blood donation camp.

Around 60 units of blood were donated by 50 volunteers and 10 faculty members.The objective of the programme was to voluntarily promote and motivate people for donate blood in larger interest of society to save precious life of needy patients as per demand by various hospitals. Sh. Vineet Joshi while addressing the gathering highlighted that blood donation leads to universal brotherhood and expressed their happiness that not only students but even faculty members showed enthusiasm to make this camp a mega event for its success.

During the camp, the registration was done initially and then donors go through the medical screening for blood donation. All donors were felicitated with Certificates and refreshments were provided. The volunteers and hospital staff on duty also followed the legitimate protocol. Volunteers from the Rotaract also joined the camp for blood donation.

All the necessary arrangements for blood donation camp were effectively managed by NSS Unit of GMSSS-15C and NSS Open Unit, U.T. Chandigarh along with Mr. Rajiv Tandon (Vice-principal GMSSS-15C), Er. Binesh Bhatia (Programme Officer, NSS Open Unit) and Smt. Manpreet Kaur (NSS Programme Officer, GMSSS-15C).

Ms. Ritika Verma from NSS Open Unit mentioned that all followed social distancing and COVID-19 norms were strictly followed. In Vote of Thanks Unit Coordinator, Ms. Ritika heartily thanked all donors and backend team for effective coordination of Blood Donation Camp.
