MOHALI: Kuhu, the head-girl of Oakridge International School, got the opportunity to be a Report Writer at Nord Anglia Education-UNICEF Summit, where she got to collate data on the work done by Nord Anglia schools around the Sustainable Development Goals. In peer talk, she focused on Digital Activism, elaborating how youth can leverage the reach of social media by sharing knowledge and opinions to break the stereotypes and educate society.

She is highly active amongst local groups and doesn’t miss out on advocating her opinions on sensitive topics like women and child rights, abuse of power, homophobia, and islamophobia. She has also been continuously making efforts by raising voice to educate society on global challenges like inequality, poverty, climate, environmental degradation, and peace and justice.

According to kuhu we can use our right to freedom of speech and expression via social media and let our voices be heard while remembering to be respectful of others' feelings and this way directly or indirectly we are achieving the goals of UNICEF and society!

Principal, Ramanjit Ghuman said at the moment that concept of Voice and Choice is inbuilt in every child at Oakridge under which the student is encouraged to make decisions and take responsibility. This concept applies not only in the learning environment but also trickles down to day-to-day actions of the child, hence building a generation of critical thinkers and responsible citizens to make the world a better place.
