AMRITSAR: E-rickshaws without number plates are illegal on the roads of Amritsar city and they have to be registered with the department as normal vehicles and the number plate should be affixed on the vehicle.
Disclosing this here today by Secretary R. T.A.S. Arshdeep Singh in a meeting with the dealers selling e-rickshaws said that the registration of the said rickshaw must be done by dealers.
He said that for this every dealer should prepare his trade certificate and the I.P. D. Registered. He then registered every e-rickshaw sold online with the department and affixed the registration number obtained from it on the e-rickshaw.
He gave a week to all the dealers to complete the said document and said that after next Friday if any dealer sells e-rickshaws without number plates then strict action would be taken against them as per law.
He also clarified to all the e-rickshaw owners that they should get the number plates of their vehicles and bring them on the city roads only after affixing them on their vehicles.
