Budget allocation under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana from 2015-16 to 2017-18

PHAGWARA:The total budget the allocation was Rs. 15650.28 crores in India under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) during 2017-18. The top 5 states in terms of budget Allocation under PMGSY during 2017-18 were Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand, Union Ministry of Rural Development informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply which has been posted on website data.gov.in.

It said that budget allocation under PMGSY was Rs. 2147.8 crores to Orisha during 2017-18, up by 11.54% against Rs. 1925.67 crores during 2016-17. Odisha accounted for 13.72% of the total budget allocation under PMGSY during 2017-18. We have observed a growth of 78.12% of budget allocation under PMGSY for Jammu and Kashmir from Rs. 786 crores from 2016-17 to Rs. 1400 crores during 2017-18. Jammu and Kashmir accounted for 8.95% of the total budget allocation under PMGSY during 2017-18. Budget allocation to Bihar was Rs. 3002.77 crores under PMGSY during 2016-17. It has decreased by -55.06% to Rs. 1349.31 crores during 2017-18 versus during 2016-17. Bihar accounted for 8.62% of the total budget allocation under PMGSY during 2017-18.

Budget allocation under PMGSY was Rs. 1294.63 crores to Madhya Pradesh and Rs. 1122.26 crores to Jharkhand during 2017-18. We have seen the growth of -34.6% and 36.86% of budget allocation to Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand respectively during the 2017-18 above 2016-17.
