AMRITSAR: Former Raagi of Sri Harmandir Sahib and mukh sevadar of Sikh Sadbhavna Dal, Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala has appealed to Sikhs to raise their voice against proposed demolition of Guru Ram Dass Sarai within Golden Temple Complex and force Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to preserve the heritage and historical buildings.
Sikh Sadbhavna Dal has decided to organise Sikh Panthic convention in the Heritage Street near Dharam Singh Market here on August 1 at 11 a.m. Bhai wadala appealed to Sikhs attend the convention in large number.
He urged the Sikhs to gather at the Heritage Street on August 1 to discuss the issues being faced .
Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala was sitting on dharna near Dharam Singh Market raising his voice against missing of 328 voluemes of Guru Granth Sahib (saroops) for the last 8 months, while talking to media strongly opposed the resolution passed by the SGPC to demolish the historic Guru Ram Dass Sarai.
Bhai Wadala said “The Sikhs must oppose demolition of historic buildings, so that we can make our future generations aware of our invaluable history".
He said termed the resolution passed by the SGPC to demolish the historic Guru Ram Dass Sarai as a direct attack on the Sikh heritage.
IT msy be mentioned that this is the only serai of the Golden Temple which provides accommodation to devotee free of cost. So, this serai caters to the ordinary devotees, who cannot afford to book paid rooms in other serais. It has a huge courtyard, which is also used to accommodate the sangat when all the rooms are booked.
