AMRITSAR: Sikh organization Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has expressed deep concern over the case of religious conversion by some people of the Sikh community in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh.
Shiromani Committee is sending a team of Pracharak Singhs under the leadership of the in-charge of Sikh Mission Uttar Pradesh in this regard, who will investigate the matter and send a complete report to the Shiromani Committee. He also asked the governments to take action against those who commit acts of religious conversion by giving such greed and allurement.
Advocate Dhami said that it is not permissible to forcefully convert followers of any religion by giving them bribes.
He said that according to the information received, families living in some villages in the border area of India-Nepal were misled by pressure, greed and false promises of treatment of diseases under the guise of ignorance and delusion.
He said that although many families have denied any such thing as religious conversion, but considering the seriousness of the matter, the Shiromani Committee is sending a team of Pracharak Singhs under the leadership of the in-charge of Sikh Mission Uttar Pradesh in this regard, who will investigate the matter and send a complete report to the Shiromani Committee. He also asked the governments to take action against those who commit acts of religious conversion by giving such greed and allurement.
