He said that the turban is an integral part of Sikhism and a symbol of Sikh identity, which is sacrilegious with such acts is tantamount to hurting the sentiments of the entire Sikh community.
Advocate Dhami said that it is the duty of the Union ministers to respect and honor people of all religions and take strict action against those who commit such anti-social acts. But when only people sitting in top positions will commit such condemnable acts, how will the trust of the common people in the government and social justice remain?
He said that such incidents not only hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community, but also weaken the trust and harmony in the entire society.
SGPC President said that the Sikh community has made invaluable sacrifices for the independence and integrity of the country. Along with this, the Sikh community has made a significant contribution to the service of humanity in every difficult time.
He said that during earthquakes, floods or other natural disasters, the Sikhs realized the spirit of the welfare of all by making a major contribution to other services including langars.
He said that the Sikh community all over the world has made an exemplary contribution to the welfare of humanity with their services. But it is a matter of regret that the sentiments of the Sikhs have been hurt by expressing hateful thoughts by a person sitting on a responsible and constitutional position of the country. The government should take strict action against such a person, so that no one commits such anti-human acts in the future.
