SGPC begins 'Sis Marg Nagar Kirtan' from Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib

AMRITSAR: On the occasion of the 350th centenary of the martyrdom of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has started the 'Sis Marg Nagar Kirtan' from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib in memory of the bringing of the head of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji by Bhai Jaita Ji from Delhi. 

This Nagar Kirtan will reach Sri Anandpur Sahib via the places where Bhai Jaita Ji had stopped after carrying the head of the ninth Guru. 

A large number of devotees participated in the Nagar Kirtan, which started with Khalsai Jaho Jalal, and paid homage to the ninth Guru. 

The first leg of the Nagar Kirtan will be held at Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvi Taravari, from where on November 26 this Nagar Kirtan will leave for Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Ambala. Similarly, on November 27, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Ambala will reach Gurdwara Sri Nabha Sahib Zirakpur and on November 28, Gurdwara Sri Nabha Sahib Zirakpur will reach Gurdwara Bibangarh Sahib Kirtanpur Sahib, where a grand Gurmat Samagam will be held. On November 29, this historic Nagar Kirtan will start on foot from Gurdwara Bibangarh Sahib to Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib. Jathedars of five Takht Sahibs, Dal Panth,  Taksals, Sikh sects along with representative organizations and prominent personalities of the Panth will participate in it.
