CHANDIGARH: SC commission summons district election officer-cum-DC Tarn Taran in Raja Warring case
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has summoned the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Tarn Taran on November 6, 2025 after finding the report submitted in connection with the case regarding the remarks made by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring about former Union Home Minister late S. Buta Singh to be unsatisfactory.
The Commission has also sought an explanation from the District Election Officer for not restricting Raja Warring’s entry into the district in accordance with the Model Code of Conduct.
Giving details, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman S. Jasvir Singh Garhi said that the response submitted today by Assistant Returning Officer-cum-Naib Tehsildar Jaswinder Singh was not found satisfactory, prompting the summoning of the District Election Officer. Notably, Congress State President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has already been directed to appear personally before the Commission on November 6, 2025.
