Plea to register FIR against Navneet Kaur Lok Sabha MP from Amravati for forging caste certificate

PUNJAB NEWS EXPRESS | May 12, 2021 06:53 PM

RUPNAGAR: A police complaint for registration of criminal case against Lok Sabha member of Amarvati in Maharashtra Navneet Kaur has been lodged with the Rupnagar Police in Punjab, alleging that she had fabricated her caste certificate to contest from reserve seat of Amaravati. She originally belongs to village Khokhar in Rupnagar district.
A local advocate Lakhbir Singh who is also secretary of Kanshi Ram Charitable Foundation in his complaint submitted to SSP Rupnagar has alleged that Navneet Kaur belonged to Lubana community which falls under backward classes. Demanding to register a case under SC and ST act besides IPC sections, Lakhbir Singh said that school leaving certificate issued by principal of Khalsa Senior Secondary School Chamkaur Sahib where she studied has mentioned the caste of her father Harbhajan Singh son of Ram Singh as Lubana.
After Harbhajan Singh shifted to Mumbai, the caste of Navneet Kaur in school records there was wrongly entered as Mochi which falls in SC category.
Another complaint in this regard made by Lok Sabha MP Anandrao Vithaoha Adsul to the Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar was investigated and an inquiry was conducted by the SDM Chamkaur Sahib. The inquiry found that no SC certificate was issued by SDM office to Ram Singh, father of Harbhajan Singh resident of village Khokhar. The signatures on the certificate do not match with the officer authorised to issue SC certificate during the period 19.6.82 to 9.6.1983 during which period the certificate was issued.
On the basis of SDM report, Lakhbir Singh has demanded to register FIR against Navneet Kaur and his father Harbhajan Singh under IPC sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471, 34 and SC/ST act.
Navneet Kaur had won Lok Sabha set of Amravati as an independent candidate against Shiv Sena candidate. She is an Indian film actress who mainly acts in Telugu films. She is elected as Member of Parliament in 2019.
