If the state government would not accepted the resignation and Parampal Kaur has joined the political party, it would amount to loss of retirement benefits including gratuaty and pension.

Parampal Kaur has joined BJP alongwith her husband Gurpreet Singh Maluka who is also Akali Dal leader. Maluka family is considered close to Badal family and Badals had always given prominance to Sikandar Singh Maluka. He is former MLA from Rampura Phool. Maluka was the education minister of the Akali government till 2017.

Parampal Kaur is accepted to be BJP's candidate from Bathinda Lok Sabha seat against sitting MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal wife of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal. The SAD, BJP and Congress have not yet announced their candidates from Bathinda seat. AAP has declared the name of Agriculture minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian.
