Mohammad Ishfaq Holds Zoom Meeting With Students And Parents Trapped In Ukraine

GURDASPUR: Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq held a meeting with the students and their parents from Gurdaspur district stranded in Ukraine and got information from the students. So far information of 43 students of Gurdaspur district has been received on the helpline number 97800-13977.

During the Zoom meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the main objective of the meeting was to get maximum information from the parents and students stranded in Ukraine so that they could share information about the steps being taken for the repatriation of students to India and other necessary requirements.
He assured the students that high officials including district administration Gurdaspur were constantly trying to get the student back home.
Speaking on the occasion, MBBS students at Dinpro Medical University, Kharkiv Medical University, Turnipil and Odessa Abst said that Indian embassies should make efforts to expedite the repatriation of students to India.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the students stranded in Ukraine not to change their current position without contacting the officials of the Indian High Commissioner.
He said that students should not go to the borders of neighboring countries without coordination with the Indian High Commission.
He told the students and their parents that they would conduct 02 meetings daily through Zoom so that they could get the required updates. He further said that the district administration has been in constant touch with the higher authorities and the administration has made every effort to ensure that the students return to their homes as soon as possible.
