Modi ignored farmer's protest in Delhi in 'Mann Ki Baat', support agri laws

CHANDIGARH: Prime Minister Narender Modi today during his monthly Radio programme of 'Mann Ki Baat' ignored the protest by lakhs of farmers in Delhi against the three farm laws brought by NDA government. Prime Minister rather supported the three agri laws.

Modi said that his government had enacted three agriculture laws which will be beneficial for the farming community. He said that his government had accepted the long standing demand of the farmers. He said that all political parties had made commitments to implement these laws.

Now questions are being asked by farmers about the statement of Modi who is justifying the agri laws despite ongoing protest in Delhi. Was Modi not aware of farmer's protest or his government is adamant not to take back the laws. Is BJP preparing for direct confrontation with the farmers under pressure from Corporate houses. It is understood that BJP wanted to ensure entry of corporate houses in the agriculture sector through these laws.

The JP leadeers are also trying to defame the agitation by alleging Kr halistani link in the farmer protest. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has shamelessely made provocative statements. He also tried to block the farmers way by digging trenches in roads and using water canons to disperse the farmers. The action of Haryana government was also condemned by Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and refused to talk with the former.

Despite provocations by Haryana and center government the farmer's agitation remained peaceful. More than 2 lakh farmers from Punjab, Haryana, UP and Rajasthan have reached Delhi and blocked main entry points.
