NEW DELHI: Ten personnel sustained minor injuries after a fire broke out on the SHP Platform of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) at its Mumbai High Asset on Friday.

The incident was reported at approximately 17:45 hours, according to a company statement.

ONGC confirmed that the fire was promptly brought under control and extinguished by its emergency response teams.

All injured personnel are currently under medical care and reported to be in stable condition.

The company emphasised that operations at the offshore installation have been normalised following the incident.

The Mumbai High Asset, located in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Mumbai, is one of ONGC’s most significant offshore oil fields and a critical contributor to India’s energy production.

The SHP Platform is part of the infrastructure supporting exploration and production activities in the region.

While ONGC has not disclosed the cause of the fire, the swift containment highlights the preparedness of its safety and emergency protocols.
