Center still ready to resolve issues with farmers through talks, proposed committee on MSP: Arjun Munda

Farmers declared to start march to Delhi on February 13
CHANDIGARH: Uninon minister Arjun Munda said that center government would continue to find a solution on demands f farmers through negotiations.He said that center had made some proposals to the farmers but these were not accepted by farmers.

Munda was talnking to media after the six hour long meeting with the farmers held here today.The farmers had announced to start a march tomorrow to Delhi to press the center for acceptance of there demands.

Munda said that center had proposed to set up a committee on the issue of MSP for crops. He said some policy decision need a discussion. He was accompanied by union minister Piyush Goyal.

The farmer organisations have rejected the proposal of setting up committee to decide on demand of MSP for crops. Jagjit Singh Dallewal Samyukt Kisan Morcha leader said that several committees were constituted in the past. Center had also given written commitment on the issue during previous agitation. He said that no concrete proposal was made by the center government.

Sarwan Singh Pandher anotehr farmer leader said that they discussed every demand in detail but center's attitude is not positive. The center wanted to pass the time but not keen to resolve the farmer's demands. He said that on same issue they had held long meetings with center in 2021 when center withdrew the three black agri-laws.

Pandher said that they were left with no other alternative but to march towards Delhi tomorrow, February 13 at 10 AM. Large number of farmers with tractor trolleys have assembled near Shambhu border. The Haryana police has blocked all roads leading from Punjab to Haryana. Six layer concrete blocks and nails have been installed on roads. The confrontation between the farmers and police seems imminent now as farmers are rigid to march to Delhi.
