Bir Devinder Singh joins issue with Capt Amarinder Singh, seeks details of his meeting with Amit Shah

CHANDIGARH: Former Deputy speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Bir Devinder Singh has raised questions over statement made by  Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh after latter's meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and sought to know details of the meeting.

Bir Devinder Singh said that after mysterious meeting with the Union Home Minister on 3rd of December in Delhi Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has preferred not to divulge any details of this meeting, he was rather summarily cryptic and precise that he has only urged the Home Minister to end the stalemate on farmers issue as it is causing huge economic loss to the State and the farmers agitation a potential threat to the security of the Nation.

He added that the experts who have the ability to read between the lines, feels that something much deeper and serious was discussed, which the Punjab Chief Minister does not want to reveal to the public. But he surely owes a public explanation as to how he perceives the farmers struggle; a serious threat to the National Security? He must decode his apprehensions, if he has really whispered so to the Home Minister off his own or he has been asked to say so by the Home Minister, both the situations are loaded with dangerous consequences for the farmers agitation. Capt. Amrinder Singh’s enigmatic statement is seemingly a part of the long-term strategy of the Government of India to suppress the farmer’s movement with force. The profoundly foolish statement of the Punjab Chief Minister shall be used by the Government of India as an alibi to use brutal force against the farmers under the pretext of National Security.

Bir Devinder Singh said that suspense still persists; whether the Home Minister of India Amit Shah has granted audience to the Punjab CM on his request or he was summoned to Delhi for some unpleasant talks? But the ambiguous statement made by the Chief Minister, yesterday after meeting Mr. Amit Shah, is the only tangible outcome of this high profile meeting which certainly gave a calculative motive to draw esoteric allusions pertaining to the farmers' struggle.

Former Deputy speaker said that the Chief Minister Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh must clarify his position regarding the point wise agenda of his meeting otherwise it would be construed as a ‘Machiaveilian mischief ‘and Amarinder-Shah conspiracy for the destruction of the farmers movement when it has already reached its peak.
