AMRITSAR: Giani Raghbir Singh Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has strongly condemned incident of some local people making hateful racial comments to the Sikh IPS officer in West Bengal .

In a written statement issued, Giani Raghbir Singh said that the contribution of the Sikh community to protect the unity, integrity, cultural, ideological and beliefs of this country can never be forgotten.

He said that the great spiritual inspiration of ten Gurus and the indomitability of brave Sikh generals have been giving freedom to the country from thousands of years of slavery. Even today Sikhs have the highest and most important contribution in the protection of the borders and economic development of the country.

Making hateful remarks to the officer in the spirit of racism is not only an incident that hurts the sentiments of Sikhs, but this phenomenon is also not in the interest of the unity and integrity of the country.

The Akal Takht Jathedar said that the government should take strict action against the people who hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community by making hateful racial comments to the officer and hurt the faith and morale of the Sikhs who are serving with their hard work, integrity and dignity in the civil services and important sectors of the country. Legal action should be taken.
