CHANDIGARH: Punjab Government today divested Dr Mangal Singh from officiating charge as Director Agriculture. His name has figured in the Rs.33 crore pesticide scam.
Congress party had demanded Judicial probe into the scam.Former MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira had produced purchase order signed by Director without permission from the higher authorities. Dr. Mangal Singh enjoyed the patronage of SAD leaders.
In the meantime, Joint Director Agriculture Gurdial Singh has been given additional charge of Director Agriculture
