AMRITSAR: Khalsa College, Ranjit Avenue, (KC) Amritsar, organized One-Day Workshop on “Lesson Planning Based on Arts & Sports Integrated Pedagogy”. The workshop was organized with the objective of enriching teacher educators with innovative approaches to lesson planning and promoting the effective integration of arts and sports into classroom teaching and learning.
The workshop featured Prof. (Dr.) Deepa Sikand Kauts, Head, Department of Education, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, as the distinguished guest and expert speaker. Teacher educators from various education colleges affiliated with GNDU participated enthusiastically in the workshop. Under the able leadership of Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Principal, Khalsa College, Ranjit Avenue, the workshop provided a meaningful platform for professional learning and pedagogical enrichment. Dr. Kamalpreet Kaur, Workshop Coordinator, contributed to making the programme a meaningful and well-organized academic engagement.
The workshop was conducted in three interactive sessions. The expert discussed various lesson-planning models and approaches specifically suited to arts- and sports-integrated pedagogy. The sessions focused on how creative arts and sports activities can be meaningfully incorporated into lesson plans to make teaching more experiential, engaging, inclusive, and learner-centred. Along with conceptual understanding, participants were provided with hands-on experience in developing arts- and sports-integrated lesson plans, enabling them to translate the concepts discussed during the sessions into practical classroom applications.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Anjum Sharma, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished expert and the participants. Overall, the workshop proved to be a productive and enriching professional development initiative, equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills to design more creative, experiential, and integrated learning experiences through arts and sports based pedagogy.
