Farmers Dharna entered in 11th Day

PHAGWARA: Though Punjab Agriculture Minister Kuldip Dhaliwal had assured the cane growers to redress their problems cum grievances very soon but the indefinite dharna of farmers led by Bhartiya Kisan Union(Doaba) continued at sugar mills chowk in Phagwara on 11th day today.

BKU General Secretary Satnam Singh Sahni said that dharna will be continue till acceptance of their demands including clearance of their pending dues of Rs 72 crores.Addressing the protesters BKU Leader Kirpal Singh Moosapur said that though Punjab Govt are repeatedly assuring,but the farmers will wait till August 25 otherwise they can intensify their stir.
Meanwhile Punjab Agricultural Minister Kuldip Dhaliwal who happenly came in Phagwara today, did not try to stop near Dharna site to talk with protesting farmers.He was on his way to Jalandhar and passed near the dharna site without meeting the farmers.BKU Leader Sahni said that the minister should give a brief halt near dharna site must.
