AMRITSAR: Former ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who has joined the BJP, took a morning walk today at Company Bagh, which is associated with the memory of Shere Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
On this occasion, people expressed their happiness seeing Mr Sandhu near them and gave them a warm welcome. Mr Sandhu accepted the offer of tea and soup from the people and enjoyed it. Overwhelmed by the love received by the people who came for the walk, Sardar Sandhu said that he was very happy to meet his people. I used to come when I was younger. But now I am also disappointed to see the dilapidated condition of the garden. It is the legacy of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It had to be developed and maintained.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that just like a soldier comes home after his liberation, I am also allowed to return home after serving the country for 36 years and now I am dedicated to Guru Nagari and its people.
He said that Indore has become a model city in terms of cleanliness in 6 years, so why can't we ride on Guru Nagari 'Amritsar Siftin de Ghar' and change its face?
He assured that in 2027, on the occasion of 450 years of Amritsar, the face of the city will be completely changed.
On this occasion, people who came for a walk took memorable pictures with Sardar Sandhu and also took selfies. Meanwhile, Sardar Sandhu also attended the Holi event organized by the Friendly Musical Group and besides sharing the joy of Holi with them, he also sang bhajans and patriotic song.
