CHANDIGARH : Punjab, once the topmost State of India, has suffered immensely in the last few decades on almost every front. Agriculture in the State is no more a profitable proposition. Existing crop pattern and agrarian distress has broken the backbone of the farming community of Punjab. Both the Governments; Center and the State has failed abundantly, in its duty to provide alternate model for profitable agriculture. Liberal policies of the commercial banking system in advancing the easy loans to the farmers in Punjab has made the farmers bankrupt and the commercial Banking has robbed the farmers of their small landholding, thus rendering them helpless and susceptible to suicides.
Human recourse indicators suggests towards enormously large population of the bothered unemployed, employable youth in Punjab. The frustrated and annoyed youth has been driven to the drugs and other intoxicants. Continued exodus of the Industry from Punjab to other destinations has not only crashed its productivity but also caused unimaginable loss to the state’s exchequer. Once the most prosperous State of Punjab has become a fiscal wreck today.
The syndicate of the most corrupt politicians of the State is squarely to be blamed for this atrocious mess.
What Punjab needs today; an extremely serious review of the prevalent pathetic state of affairs, with clinical precision. Arvind Kejriwal should know that the effective Governance of the welfare State has since been paralyzed under the Badal family rule, for quite some time. No lopsided approach can heal the wounds of Punjab. It’s terribly serious task to handle the overall decay in Punjab in the given spiteful conditions. So Mr. Arvind Kejriwal ; please for God sake, don’t treat Punjab as a theatre for comedian circus. People of Punjab expect all kind of absurdity to end now in February 2017. Enough is enough now and new era of reconstruction and resurrection of Punjab must begin sooner than later.
