LOHIAN KHAS:The Lohian Khas police have booked five villagers including a woman on
the charges of brewing illicit country made liquor.
Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhdev Singh said that the accused are
Identified as Manjit Kaur wife of Ramesh Kumar a resident Muridwal
village and Harjindar Singh a resident of the same village .SHO said
20 bottles of hooch, 50 litters of hot Lahann(raw liquor) utensils
for brewing and storing lahann were recovered from the accused who
managed to flee.
SHO said that police also booked Nirmal, Ajay Kumar and Rakesh Kumar
residents of Murid Wal village for brewing illicit liquor and
recovered from their possession 180 litters of lahann .
Cases under sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act have been registered
against the accused.
