Villager booked for insulting religion of man, intimidation

NAKODAR:The Nakodar city police have booked a villager on the charges of insulting the religion of any class, voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation..

The investigating officer (IO) Labh Singh said that the accused has been identified as Keshi a resident of Mahunwal village.

Daljit Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused barged into his dairy shop in and inebriated condition on November 30 and he pushed him outside but the accused hit him with an iron road and injured his forehead and pulled his beard and mustaches and issued threats .

IO said that a case under sections 295(defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class), 323(voluntarily causing hurt), and 506(criminal intimidation) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrest has been made and raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding accused.
