SHAHKOT:The Shahkot police have arrested a villager on the charge of stealing
oil from transformers.
The investigating officer (IO) Buta Ram said that the accused has been
identified as Malkit Singh alias Nita a resident of Ramuwal village
under Mehat Pur police station.
Surjit Singh a resident of Bhuddannwal village complained to the
police that the accused was stealing oil from a transformer installed
in his fields on September night and was caught red handed by
residents.
IO said that a case under sections 379(theft) and 411(dishonestly
receiving stolen property) of the IPC has been registered against the
accused.
