NAKODAR:The Mehat Pur today arrested Sunny a resident of Bangiwal village for
illegal sand mining.
Junior Engineer cum Mining officer Nakodar- Shahkot Harmanjot Singh
complained to the police that the accused and his unidentified
accomplice were indulging in theft by quarrying sand from land, said IO
Paramjit Singh.
IO said a case under Section379 IPC and 21 Punjab Mining and Minerals
Act has been registered against the accused .The Police have also
impounded one tractor and trolley adding that the accused is a
proclaimed offender in a mining case registered against him in 2021.
Meanwhile the Shahkot police has also booked unidentified persons on
the charge of illegal sand mining on a complaint from mining officer
Kary Sharma, said IO Balvir Chand.
