NURMAHAL:The Bilga police have booked unidentified persons on the charges of
brewing illicit country made liquor.
Station House Officer (SHO) Mohindar Pal said that the accused were
brewing illicit liquor in Mand area of Sutlej River near Bhode
village. A police raided the spot and recovered 70 bottles s of hooch,
1000 litters Lahann(raw liquor) and utensils for brewing and storing
Lahann were recovered from the accused who managed to flee.
A case under sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act has been registered
against the accused.
The Nakodar sadar police also booked unidentified person for brewing
illicit liquor and recovered 200 litters Lahann from Billi Chao
