NURMAHAL:The Nurmahal police today arrested a travel agent for duping a Pasla
village resident of Rs.5 lakhs on the pretext of sending him
abroad.
The investigating officer (IO) Paramjit Singh said that the accused
has identified as Ravi Khan a resident of Baba Jit Singh Nagar ,
Bhawani Garh in Sangrur
IO said that Harjindar Singh a resident of Pasla village had
complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP)
that he paid Rs 5 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his
migration abroad, but he was not sent abroad nor returned the money.
IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420
(cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC was registered
against the accused and others.
