CHANDIGARH: The son of IAS officer Sanjay Popli who is under arrest was killed with gun shot fired at his residence during a raid by Vigilance Department. It is not yet clear how the gun shot was fired.
The deceased has been identified as Ankit Popli. Police said he might have committed suicide but incident is being probed.
Sanjay Popli was arrested by Punjab Vigilance Department on corruption charges. He was on police remand and his four day remand was to end today. Police was yet to produce in the court but tragedy struck his family.
Senior Police officers have reached at the residence of Popli and investigation is on to know the cause of firing.
