Sacked DSP Jagdish Bhola who named Bikram Majithia as kingpin of drug trade in Punjab comes out of jail after 12 years

BATHIDNA: Sacked DSP of Punjab police who was running a drug racket and convicted by the court is released from Bathinda jail on Sunday after spending 12 years in the prison. He is granted bail by Punjab and Haryana High Court.

His remarks that Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia is the kingpin of drug trade in Punjab had created a political storm. Bhola was naked main accused in Rs.6000 crore drug racket. He was convicted in two cases of NDPC Act and few more cases are pending against him. Bhola a native of Raike Kalan village in Bathinda was once a celebrated wrestler and recipient of Arjuna award. He was dismissed from Punjab Police in 2012 after his involvement id=n drug cases came to light. He is facing several cases including one registered by the ED.

At the time when he accused Majithia of patronising drug racket, SAD was in power. The Fatehgarh Sahib police was investigating the case but the investrigation was stopped and SSP was transferred. The role of Majithia remained untraced. Majithia however is facing police investigation in similar case and it is being probed by SIT.
