CHANDIGARH: The Interpol today issued red-corner notice against the Canada based Indian origin gangster Goldy Brar who has taken the responsibility of murder of famous Punjabi singer and rappor Sidhu Moosewal.
Sidhu was shot dead by a group fo shooters near village Jawaharke in Mansa district of Punjab on May 29 last. Goldy Brar who has close relations with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had taken the responsibility of murder. He had claimed that they have revenged the murder of a close friend Vicky Middukhera shot dead in Mohali by a rival group.
Middukhera was said to be an informer of Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The CBI nodal agency in India had sent the request for red corner notice to Interpol on June 2. The reports said that Interpol accepted the request and issued red corner notice. It is learnt that Goldy Brar is not permanently living in Canada, he is frequent traveller to USA.
CBI in its request had mentioned that Goldy Brar had taken the responsibility in an ingterview with a web channel. Interpol has taken notice of it and also mentioned this fact in the red corner notice. Issuing red corner notice means, Canada police can now detain Goldy Brar and then proceedings of his extradition may be started. 192 countries are members of interpol thus it would be difficult for Goldy Brar to move out of Canada. He may be arrested on any airport during immigration check.
The murder of Sidhu Moosewala had created wide spread anger and shock all over the world. Sidhu Moosewala was popular across the continent.
Punjab Police has arrested 8 persons who provided logistic help to shooters of Moosewala. Police is close to crack the case, the sources said.
