PHAGWARA: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist early Thursday morning near the gate of Atta village in the Goraya on Friday morning.
The accident involved a Maruti Grand Vitara SUV and a Splendor motorcycle. Hitesh Sharma, a resident of Pathankot, was traveling with his family from Pathankot to Gurugram, but passing through the Goraya area, his vehicle collided with a motorcycle.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the motorcycle became lodged in the SUV and was dragged for several meters, while the motorcyclist was thrown to the ground. The impact of the collision and the horrifying sight left bystanders in shock.
The deceased has been identified as Jhalman Singh, a resident of Rurka Khurd village near Goraya.
Police have taken both vehicles into custody and initiated further investigation into the cause of the accident.
