PHAGWARA: The Nihang Ramandeep Singh Mangu Math arrested by Punjab Police for the murder of a man in Phagwara Gurdawara on morning of January 16 has reportedly tested postive for drugs.
The Police conducted the dope test of the accused and it is learnt that “Buper-Norphine”, "Benzodiazepine” and “Morphine” were allegedly found in blood samples. He killed a migrant indentified as Vishal Kapur of Delhi on suspicion of sacrilege in the local Gurdawara.
The police is investigating various angles of the case which caught headlines and the role of Nihang Mangu Math came under suspicioun. Senior Superintendent of the Police Vatsalya Gupta while talking to this correspondent on Thursday morning that though the cops have verified the identity of the deceased as Vishal Kapoor, but the cops are putting hard efforts to know ie Why the deceased Vishal and arrested Nihang Ramandeep came to Gurdwara at same night-intentionally or co-incidentally? Who is Sukhi? Whose name was being disclosed by the deceased in a video? Why the deceased Vishal was saying in video that You(Ramanddep) were also there. These questions will have to be solved by cops which could came to light only from the arrested Nihang.
Meanwhile after sending a notice By Minority Commission Chairman Iqbal Singh Lyalpura to Chief Secretary Anurag Verma seeking his report in this episode, now entry of civil administration in this ugly episode could also not be ruled out.
When contacted Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Captain Karnail Singh told this correspondent this afternoon that whenever Chief Secretary will ask him he will verify the facts.
