Kapurthla police recovers 500 grams Heroin valuing Rs.2 crores more than two crore and arrested two drug

KAPURTHALA: Kapurthala police today seized 500 grams of heroin valuing rupees more than two crore in the international market and arrested two drug smugglers and impounded their motorcycle.

This was disclosed by SP(investigation) Jagjit Singh Saroya in a press conference here today.

He disclosed that on a tip off police party headed by DSP(Investigation) Amrit Sarup Dogra intercepted one motorcycle coming from kapurthala –Kartarpur side near village Dainwind and on its search recovered half kilogram heroin from their possession and their third accomplice however managed to flee away.

Police identified the accused as Karamjit Singh of village Bootan falling in kapurthala and Jaspal Singh resident village Naharpur falling under police station Kartarpur.

During their preliminary interrogation, both the accused confessed that they were in the business of selling drugs for the past few years and were in the search of a client to sell the narcotics.

Police has taken two days police remand of both the accused and begun investigation to know the kingpin of narcotic business.

Police has registered a case under the NDPS act .

It is pertinent to mention here that police recovered one kilo heroin valuing rupees five crore on May 6 and arrested two drug smugglers.
