PHAGWARA: The Phillaur Police headed by D.S.P. Phillaur Sarwanjit Singh have successfully busted an Inter-District Gang of Snatchers by arresting its nine members including Kingpin Baljinder Singh@ Babloo resident of Phillaur.
Senior Superintendent of the Police(Rural) Ankur Gupta while talking to this correspondent on Saturday that the police recovered 17 stolen motorcycles, 30 snatched Mobile Phones and seven sharped weapons(Datars) from their possession.
The arrested accused were identified as Raman Kumar@ Kuku, Mehak@ Gora, Mandip@ Deepu, Gurmit@ Geetu, Manpreet@ Gogi, Lavpreet@ Labha, Sandip, Harkamal and Kingpin Baljinder Singh.
SSP Gupta said after getting a secret information a police party headed by SHO Phillaur Neeraj Kumar raided at different places in Nakodar and succeeded to nab all nine members.
While giving details DSP Sarwanjit Singh said that all eight gang members after committing crimes were handing over the snatched goods to kingpin Baljinder Singh who later with the connivance of his colleagues sold these goods mostly to migrants. The Phillaur Police have registered a case under section 399, 402, 411 IPC against the arrested accused.All arrested accused were produced before Judicial magistrate Phillaur who sent them in police remand of five days for further interrogation, said SHO Neeraj Kumar
