LOHIAN:The Lohian Khas police have arrested five persons on the charge stealing barrier from National Highways (NH).The investigating officer(IO) Pargat Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kulbir Singh, Rannjit Singh and his brother Harmit Singh residents of Fatiaha Bad in Taran Tarn, Hardip Singh and Sarabjit Singh resident of Bhainni Sidhawan village in Taran Tarn .
Executive Engineer Nation Highways division Jalandhar(PWD –BR) complained to the police that the accused stole metal beam crash barrier from burji no.703-A at Giddar Pindi village on the Jalandhar-Kapurthala-Sultan Pur Lodhi road(NH).
IO said that a case under sections 379(theft) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the Indian Penal Code and section 3 of the Govt.Property Damage Act has been registered against the accused.
