Drugs seized under NDPS Act destroyed

JALANDHAR /NAKODAR : The Jalandhar (rural) police on Saturday destroyed drugs seized under NDPS Act by various police stations.

The Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swarandeep Singh said in a press release that the drugs seized in 190 cases were destroyed in a fire on the premises of Green Energy Private Limited Bir Pind village under Nakodar Sadar police station.

He said that destroyed drugs included 407 kilograms and 350 grams of poppy husk, 3 kilograms and 435 grams of intoxicant powder, 2 kilograms and 545 grams of heroin, 900 grams Charas, 9 kilograms Ganja, 407 injections, 7181 intoxicant tablets, and3874 intoxicant capsules.

The press note said that the drug disposal committee of Jalandhar rural chairman and SSP Swarandeep Singh, SP(D) Sarabjit Singh Bahia, and DSP(D) Jalandhar (rural) Jaswindar Singh Chahal were present on the occasion.
