CHANDIGARH: Samagra Shiksha, Department of School Education organized a State Level Programme “Samavesh Utsav” at GMSSS-21 to promote environment of Inclusion. During the event 72 CWSN from different Govt. schools were provided Aids and Appliances in collaboration with ALIMCO (Artificial limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India).
Stalls with exhibits prepared during Skill Training by CWSN werealso displayed which was enthusiastically being shown by CWSN who had prepared them. The Director School Education facilitated the award winners of the various sports activities at State Level. He also motivated the students, who have been selected to represent Chandigarh at National Level, Badminton under Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) being held for boys in Guwahati from 16 th to 24 th March, 2024 and for girls in Gurgaon from 24 th March to 29 th March, 2024.
He ensured the students that all efforts will be made by the Department for their performance and stay during National games. Mr. Aashray, GMSSS-35 among boys and Ms. Priya, GMSSS- 21 Ms. Janki, GMSSS-26 TM among girls from Govt. schools will be representing Chandigarh for National Level alongwith students from different special schools of UT Chandigarh.
Dr. Priti Arun, Joint Director GRIID in her address applauded the efforts of the Department for creating an inclusive environment in schools. She also motivated the teachers, parents and the students to keep doing their best. A word of praise by Dr. Priti Arun was also made for the ALIMCO team for their contribution in helping these students in their day to day life so that they can achieve success. SMC members present during the event applauded the performance of “Ludi” by CWSN and contributed a sum of Rs.3100/- for the team.
