Virtual Teacher Training program organized by Oakridge International School under the title job -Alike

MOHALI: Oakridge International School with NINNS or North India and Nepal Network of Schools) organized the Virtual Job -Alike Session which was hosted by Oakridge International School, Mohali. Meera Chhabria was representing from Oakridge School.

As the need for continuous professional development is at its highest than ever before, Oakridge School strongly believes in collaboration and sharing of best practices as a part of the growing together process. The event saw 390 participants from 25 schools across North India and Nepal and shared insights about assessment practices, particularly in the virtual scenario.

The school hosted 27 different sessions on a wide variety of topics. Sessions for early years facilitators included topics like the importance of play and power of stories while the topics that are the need of the hour such as digital citizenship, evidencing learning and hybrid learning were engaged with. Single subject areas such as dance, drama, library, and design thinking were also thoroughly enjoyed by the participants. It was resourceful learning retreat for teachers to understand and reflect on their practices.

While speaking at the moment Principal of the School Ramanjit Ghuman said that Schools become more impactful learning communities when they use assessment as a tool to evaluate the depth of their curriculum and the effectiveness of their teaching. According to her such sessions enable teachers to save time and effort in researching resources and amalgamation of successful practices are implemented.
