MOHALI: Rayat Bahra University has been adjudged as District Green Champion in Mohali district for the current academic session (2020-21) by the Union Department of Higher Education on the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner of Mohali.
Disclosing this here today, Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, said that Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Himanshu Aggarwal presented the award to the university Registrar Prof BS Satyal and other officials from the university.
Bahra said that the award has been given for successful setting up of the Swachhta Action Plan Committee, adopting and implementing best practices in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, waste management, water management, energy management, and greenery management.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh appreciated the efforts put in by all the university staff in the Swachhta Action Plan which led to the university getting this coveted award.
The Vice-Chancellor said that with state-of-the-art infrastructure, and strong industry collaborations the Rayat Bahra University has carved an enviable niche for itself in the northern region and attracts students not only from across the country but also abroad.B S Bains and dr.simerjit kaur were also present at the time of receiving award.
