Over 100 RBU students get placements

MOHALI: The Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions (RBGI) has touched a new high in placements with over 100 students getting placements in top notch companies at handsome packages.

Disclosing this here today, Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions (RBGI), said that that this had been possible as the university has professional teams including in-house training team, placement team, training partners, assessment agencies, career counselors, industry training partner and entrepreneur development team, who help students meet every challenge head on.

Bahra said that the selected students are from Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) 7th semester from Rayat Bahra University, Hoshiarpur campus and Bahra University, Shimla hills.

The total students selected in Wipro alone was 27 and in the rest of the companies around 70.
The package offered by Wipro was Rs 5 lakh per annum and the job profile was System Engineer. The Online selection rounds included aptitude and verbal ability, Coding and HR.

The other companies which had selected students included IBM, Birla Soft, Bebo Technology, Blue Bash, Pep Coding and Winnie Tech.

Bahra said that interaction with corporate houses for internships and placements was a regular feature at the university and the passing on feedback from industry experts to the respective academic departments for follow-up action to overcome shortcomings of students helped the students get good placements.

The university organizes industrial visits, workshops, guest lectures, besides signing MOUs with industry for short- and long-term live projects. In addition to this the Centre of Excellence and setting up of Industry Advisory Board had given a fresh impetus to placements of students, Discussion of performance parameters with the industry exerts after the completion of campus recruitment process was also a regular feature at the university, he added.

Bahra lauded the Training and Placement Department headed by Neeraj Chauhan and Amit Athwal who played a vital role in the selection of the students. He said cutting-edge intensive training provided the students the right intellectual aptitude and skills that enabled them to scale the career graph and become leaders in their respective fields.
