AMRITSAR:National Sports Day was celebrated at S.R. Government College for Women, Amritsar on August 29, 2022 to commemorate the birthday of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand whose extensive contribution to the field is a matter of pride and inspiration for the youth of the Nation.
On this occasion, show matches of Basketball and Kho-Kho were conducted by the Physical Education department of the College. Students of various departments participated in these matches with great zeal. Principal of the College Prof. Dr. Daljit Kaur stressed on the importance of games and sports for students along with their studies. She stated that sports help built not only physical but mental and social health also.
Council members of the College including Dr.Surinder Kaur, Dr.Sachin Kalra, Ms.Kiranjit Bal, Dr. Romy Arora and Mr.Jaideep Singh and incharges of Physical Education department were present to motivate the partipants
