IT Giant TCS selected 132 students from GND University

AMRITSAR: Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar organized campus placement drive by multinational IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). As many as 132 students from various departments of Guru Nanak Dev University have been hired by the company. These students shall join their jobs in July 2023 after their final exam.

TCS conducted online test, technical and HR interviews of final year students of B.Tech. - Computer Science, B.Tech. – Electronics, B.Tech. Mechanical Engg., B.Tech. Civil Engg. and MCA students. After the rigrous selection process, TCS offered job to 132 students. TCS offered Digital profile and Ninja profile to the selected students. The selected students have been offered an annual salary package between Rs. 3.36 Lakh per annum to Rs. 7.00 Lakh per annum.

The students belong to main campus Amritsar as well as the regional campuses of Jalandhar and Gurdaspur. TCS is visiting GNDU, Amritsar for selecting students for more than a decade. GNDU is one of the few premier institutes, where TCS has offered Digital Profile to the students under which the package of Rs. 7.00 lakh per annum has been offered.

Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor congratulated the students and faculty members on getting the job offers from TCS. He also appreciated efforts of the Placement Cell in bringing the best corporate to GNDU. Dr. B.S. Bajwa, Prof.-in-Charge (Placements) said that many more companies like Infosys, Amdocs, Capgemini, Nagarro and many others have confirmed their visit in near future to recruit the students of GNDU. Dr. Amit Chopra, Asstt. Placement Officer added that the GNDU is one of the favourite place to hire engineering graduates.

The alumni’s are also feeling quite happy on the placement of their juniors. Amritpal Singh, Alumni of GNDU and Co-founder and CTO of CustomerSuccessBox, Gurugram said that it is a great achievement for both university and students to reach this milestone. It is a paradigm shift after the pandemic. Another alumni of GNDU Ms. Tanvi, Assistant Manager AVL India Tech Centre Gurugram said that it gives me immense pleasure to see my juniors getting placed in renowned organizations with very good annual packages. Ms. Manpreet Kaur, Alumi and Front End Software Developer, IBM Canada (Markham) said that tremendous efforts by the Placement Department to bring several big corporates to the campus are worth every appreciation.

GNDU also got the highest package of Rs. 44.00 Lakh per annum this year for Batch 2022 student selected by Amazon. The average pay package also jumped from Rs. 5.16 Lakh per annum in academic session 2020-21 to Rs. 6.37 Lakh per annum in academic session 2021-22.
