PHAGWARA:International peace day was celebrated at MLU DAV College Phagwara with great zeal and enthusiasm under the guidance of Dr. Kiranjeet Randhawa Principal of the college. Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world today .
The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace. A seminar was ogranised by faculty members for students to encourage them to learn the word ‘Peace’ and its true meaning. Peace day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit and build a culture of peace. Students participated in various activities and shared their views through speeches, poems and songs. The participation of the students was just really amazing. Dr. Randhawa addressed the students that Covid -19 pandemic has brought the world together emerging as the common enemy that has threatened health, security and every aspect of life. It has reminded us that the world is one place where what happens in one part of the planet can impact people everywhere. The main purpose of this day is to aware people around the globe that we are not each other’s enemies. It encourages people on building a suitable and peaceful world. She further said that everyone should focus on kindness and peace and eliminate violence. The function was fruitful indeed.
